Bournemouth have reportedly agreed deal with AC Milan to sign former Real Madrid right back, Alex Jimenez on initial loan with buy clause in effort to bolster their defensive line after offloading most of their first choice defender’s in this transfer window.

The 20-year-old can also play in multiple positions as a wing-back or as a winger on either the left or right side. Softfootball understands that Jimenez is believed to be open to a move to the Vitality Stadium.

The Spain youth international is a product of Real Madrid’s academy and has played 34 times for Milan. The Cherries are also in the market to add a central defender, amid talks with Chelsea’s Axel Disasi.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano via his X account, Bournemouth have completed a deal to sign Alex Jimenez from AC Milan on an initial loan with a buy option included.

The Premier League side will cover the player’s salary, while Milan have verbally agreed to the terms. Medicals and final formalities are expected to take place within the next 24 hours. His post reads:

“Alex Jimenez to Bournemouth, here we go! Deal agreed on initial loan with buy clause and salary covered.

AC Milan verbally agree to conditions with medical/formal steps to follow in next 24h.

Real Madrid approve the deal for Jimenez as they maintain buy back clause.”

Jimenez faces a pivotal moment going into the Premier League. Once hailed as one of the brightest defensive talents in Spain, he has drifted through Milan’s plans without establishing himself. Yet his raw ability is unquestionable, strong in one 0n one duels, quick across the ground and adventurous in possession.

England, with its intensity and need for athletic full-backs, could be the perfect environment for him to rebuild. Bournemouth’s model, blending experienced professionals with emerging talent, offers him a stage to play consistently while developing under less pressure than at Milan or Madrid.

In a related post, Softfootball reported earlier that AC Milan are weighing up a potential move for Manchester City’s Manuel Akanji, with the club recently making contacts over the conditions of a deal.
