AFC Bournemouth have reached a full agreement to appoint Marco Rose as their new head coach for the 2026/2027 season. The German tactician is set to take charge at the Vitality Stadium this June, replacing Andoni Iraola.

The decision comes as Iraola prepares to step down after three successful years at the club. Despite being offered a new contract in December, he has chosen to move on in search of a fresh challenge, with a possible return to his home country being discussed.

This appointment signals a clear direction from the club during a period of transition. Softfootball believes bringing in Rose, known for his high-intensity and aggressive style, shows Bournemouth’s intent to maintain the attacking identity that has brought them recent success.

Attention now turns to the pitch as Bournemouth prepare for a crucial clash against Newcastle United at St James Park. Newcastle have struggled at home recently, losing four of their last five league matches, while Bournemouth arrive in strong form after a 2-1 win over Arsenal FC.

Iraola will remain in charge for the final six matches of the season, starting with the trip to Newcastle. Marco Rose is expected to be officially unveiled in early June as he begins planning for the summer transfer window and the club’s next chapter.
