Big U-turn as Rashford accepts Fenerbahce offer

Marcus Rashford has reportedly agreed to join Turkish club side Fenerbahce as he searches for a Manchester United exit. Softfootball had been informed that Rashford only wanted a move to Barcelona until events took a twist.

Rashford is believed to have made a U-turn with his decision after a phone call with old boss Jose Mourinho who is actively looking for new legs in his squad to rival Galatasaray who robbed them off the Turkish League title last season.

According to Fotomac, the United outcast gave the ‘green light’ to join Fenerbahce after talking with Mourinho over the phone. The England international worked under the former Chelsea boss at Old Trafford between 2016 and 2018, with Rashford scoring 28 goals in 125 appearances across all competitions during that time.

Rashford is one of five first-team players at United who are actively seeking transfers away from Old Trafford this summer. The 27-year-old was sent out on loan to Aston Villa in January after falling out with Ruben Amorim and is searching for a new home.

Rashford had only wanted to move to Barcelona this summer but with the Catalans’ financial struggle, it does seem the player is beginning to consider other options. Manchester United have also been informed that Rashford might only be possibly off loaded by a loan offer with an option to buy which is what Fenerbahce are offering.

It is reported that talks between both clubs are said to begin later this week as United are keen to start off loading the five players who asked to leave the club this summer. Marcus Rashford, Antony, Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho, Tyrell Malacia are the players on that list.

Fenerbahce are working to bring in quality players this summer as they have seen Edin Dzeko, Bright Osayi-Samuel and a few players exit the club already.

Softfootball had earlier called that Mourinho’s team were looking to outbid clubs for Marco Asensio from PSG. About three clubs are battling for the signature for former Real Madrid star and want away PSG player Marco Asensio.

The 29-year old winger who spent last season on loan at Premier League side, Aston Villa is having quite a busy time in his holiday as AC Milan, Fenerbahce and Villareal are said to be after the UEFA Champions League winner who has fallen out of love in Paris.
