Bayern Munich have submitted a €52m (£44.7m) bid for Liverpool winger Luis Diaz. Softfootball understands that Bayern Munich are now in search of a suitable winger after their top target, Nico Williams, signed an 8-year contract extension with Athletic Bilbao.

Kompany’s side are determined to sign Luis Diaz this summer however, they will not overpay for the Liverpool winger amid interest from Barcelona who were left stranded by Nico Williams as well.

The Bavarians would also not shy away from the fact that the 28-year-old may no longer have any resale value rather, the priority is to strengthen the squad immediately and recoup the transfer fee with prize money from good performances in competitions such as the Champions League or Club World Cup.

However, due to the tragic death of Diogo Jota, Bayern have not yet made an official offer to Liverpool nor have they held any talks. Diaz’s agent, meanwhile, has been informed that Die Roten are determined to sign the Colombian.

According to journalist Christian Falk via his X handle, Bayern are now in talks with Liverpool and are ready to test the the reds with a bid. His post read:

Liverpool are believed to want Diaz to stay but the could be tempted if a good price come for the Colombian. Diaz has admitted he is surveying his options amid interest from Barcelona, Bayern Munich and the Saudi Pro League.

The Colombia international was a key figure as the Reds claimed the Premier League title, contributing 13 goals and five assists, and Arne Slot’s side look to have little desire to let him leave this summer with two years left to run on his current contract.

He spoke to Colombian influencer, Mauricio Gomez on his transfer stressing that there is no rush. He said:

“We’re there, negotiating. We’ll see what can be achieved, for us and for the club. We’ll try to do our best and make the best decision.

“We’re in the process of negotiations, talking with the club, with Liverpool, with everyone who’s approaching us. But I’m very calm where I am, you know, very happy.

Liverpool have brought a couple of players this summer totaling money spent to over £200m but have since been hit hard by the demise of their Portuguese player, Diogo Jota who passed on suddenly in a car accident with brother, Andrea Silva as reported by Softfootball.

Liverpool have expressed their profound grief and unwavering support following the tragic death of forward Diogo Jota, who passed away in a car accident in Spain alongside his brother, André.

The club confirmed on Thursday that they had been informed of the devastating news concerning the 28-year-old Portuguese international, who had been a key member of the Reds’ squad since joining from Wolves in 2020.
