Bayern Munich cool interest in Juventus striker Dusan Vlahović ahead of 2026 transfer window

Dusan Vlahović might be one of Europe’s top forwards, but Bayern Munich aren’t making any moves for him, at least not anytime soon. Fresh reports on October 16, 2025, confirm that the Bundesliga giants have ruled out a summer 2026 approach for the Juventus striker, despite earlier talk linking him to the Allianz Arena.

Sporting directors Max Eberl and Christoph Freund are said to be on the same page: Vlahović isn’t part of their immediate plans. Bayern, it seems, are thinking ahead, focusing on developing younger players and keeping an eye on talents who fit the club’s long-term vision better.

Softfootball understands that Vlahović’s current deal with Juventus runs until June 2026, meaning he could walk for free if things don’t change, a situation Manchester United will be hoping to work in their favour. However, Bayern appear reluctant, even with that in mind. Transfer expert Florian Plettenberg explained the situation firmly in a post via his official X account.

He wrote:

Dusan Vlahovic is undoubtedly a top forward, but he is currently not under consideration for FC Bayern’s plans for the summer of 2026, despite reports elsewhere and as mentioned on our show. Max Eberl and Christoph Freund are not pursuing the matter. His contract with Juventus expires at the end of the season. One to watch for the next two transfer windows.

The Serbian international has already scored six goals this season, a solid return, but questions about his consistency and fitness have made some big clubs hesitant, especially after the striker struggled to score for five games after dropping two goal and an assist against Dortmund due to fitness concerns.

The feeling inside Bayern is that they want a more mobile, pressing-orientated striker — someone who suits Vincent Kompany’s system a bit more naturally.

That doesn’t completely close the door on Vlahović, though. If his situation at Juventus drags on and the market shifts again in 2027, his name could resurface. But for now, Bayern’s attention is clearly elsewhere.

One thing’s clear: Vlahović remains a big name, but not Bayern’s big plan — at least not in the near future.
