Bayern Munich Close in on Jackson Amid Transfer Tug-of-War with Chelsea

Bayern Munich have agreed on personal terms with Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson, a huge step forward in what has quickly become one of the summer’s most compelling transfer stories. The 24-year-old Senegalese forward has agreed to a move to Germany, but the deal is far from done.

Softfootball earlier reported that Aston Villa are very interested in the striker, but recent reports now point to Bayern Munich; however, trouble lies between clubs.

Bayern have pushed for a loan, with an option or obligation to buy, while Chelsea do not want to let him leave unless they get a permanent sale, which they require to balance their financials. Negotiations have continued, with a decisive few days ahead for everyone involved.

German transfer expert Florian Plettenberg confirmed that discussions had taken place in a new post on his official X account but reiterated that both parties are still some way off an actual agreement.

He wrote:

“Regarding FC Bayern and Nicolas #Jackson, there have been new talks today. However, there is still no full agreement between Jackson and Bayern. Bayern and Chelsea are in contact and it’s difficult. Bayern want a loan. Premier League clubs remain in the mix, with Aston Villa”

However, with Aston Villa still strongly interested in Jackson, and with Newcastle United transfer rumours also circulating, it is possible that Chelsea could receive alternative bids from England.

For now, Bayern appear to be on the front foot, given Jackson’s willingness to join them. Unless the German giants work out a deal that suits Chelsea, the door remains open for a Premier League rival to step in.
