Softfootball has gathered that Jamal Musiala experienced a reaction in his left ankle following their dominant 6–1 victory over Atalanta in the UEFA Champions League. This was confirmed by Bayern Munich as reported by transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano on his official X handle.

Jamal Musiala is struggling with a pain reaction in his left ankle, Bayern confirm. It’s the same ankle that was injured in the summer.
The issue is believed to be related to the serious injury Musiala suffered in July 2025, when he fractured his fibula and dislocated his ankle during the Club World Cup quarter-final defeat to PSG. The injury occurred late in the first half after a collision with PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, forcing the German international to leave the match and be replaced by Serge Gnabry at halftime.
That setback sidelined the 22-year-old midfielder for nearly six months, keeping him out of action until January 2026. Since returning, Musiala has quickly rediscovered his form and even scored in Bayern’s emphatic win over Atalanta before the ankle discomfort resurfaced late in the match.
Despite the concern, early signs suggest the issue may not be severe, as videos circulating online showed Musiala walking normally after the game.
Earlier this season, Musiala also made Bundesliga history when Bayern defeated Eintracht Frankfurt 3–2, becoming the youngest player ever to reach 100 wins in the Bundesliga at 22 years and 360 days.
He has now played 144 league matches for Bayern, contributing 76 goals and assists during that period.
