Barcola committed to PSG as Liverpool pull back

Bradley Barcola

Bradley Barcola has no plans to leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer, despite serious interest from Liverpool and Bayern Munich. The young forward has made a name for himself after a phenomenal 2024-25 season, scoring 21 goals and providing 19 assists across all competitions.

Liverpool had lined up a hefty £100 million bid for the 22-year-old after already moving forward on a deal for Florian Wirtz. However, they’ve now been forced to look elsewhere, as PSG firmly closed the door on any talks for the player’s transfer.

The Frenchman’s value rose sharply after an impressive campaign that culminated in a Champions League win. Although he started the final on the bench, he still managed to contribute with a key assist—highlighting his reliability even in limited minutes.

Competition in PSG’s attack is fierce, with names like Dembele, Doue, and Kvaratskhelia all pushing for spots. Still, Barcola remains an essential figure for manager Luis Enrique, who reportedly views him as irreplaceable going into the new season.

While Barcola remains in Paris, Liverpool are keeping their options open. Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak is reportedly on their radar, although his price tag north of £150 million may prove prohibitive. Arsenal have already dropped out of the chase for the Swedish forward.

In addition to new arrivals, Liverpool are expected to offload some attacking players. Both Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota are considered available, while Luis Diaz is said to be targeting a switch to Barcelona—adding urgency to the Reds’ forward hunt.

Despite the potential shake-up at Anfield, Barcola and PSG appear unfazed. Both sides are committed to extending their partnership, and the player himself has expressed contentment with his role and development in the French capital.
