Arsenal have unveiled Spanish midfielder, Martin Zubimendi as their new signing from Real Sociedad on a 5 year deal. Softfootball earlier recounted how the midfielder arrived in London to finalize his deal with the Gunners.
Zubimendi becomes Arsenal’s second signing of the season after the Gunners announced former Chelsea goalkeeper, Kepa Arrizabalaga on a 5m move.
The Gunners had been on the pursuit of Zubimendi since January and were at some point displaced off the radar when Real Madrid were interested in the midfielder but the Gunners stood strong with the aid of their good relationship with Sociedad.

Mikel Arteta was certainly in need of a new midfielder after Thomas Partey and the North Londoners parted ways in June. BBC Sports revealed, Zubimendi came in handy on with a £60M transfer fee which is 9m more than his original release clause fee of £51M.
Although the only reason Arsenal and their new sporting director, Andre Berta agreed was to help them pay flexibly.
The Gunners while unveiling their new man said:
Signed and sealed.
The latest addition to our midfield has arrived
Speaking to the Arsenal media, he admitted it was move he had been wanting to make for a long time as he admired the team’s style of play. These were his statements;
“This is a huge moment in my career. It’s the move I was looking for and one I wanted to make. As soon as you set foot here, you realise how big this club and this team are.
“I set my sights on Arsenal because their style of play is a good fit for me. They have shown their potential recently and the best is yet to come.”
Zubimendi will be wearing the number 36 shirt for the club, a number he previously sported for Sociedad. Softfootball some days ago reported Zubimendi arriving London to finalise this deal.
Although Real Madrid have inquired about his situation in recent weeks to make a final attempt, Zubimendi and the team coached by Mikel Arteta have been in talks for several months.
According to Mikel Recalde of Spanish outlet Noticias de Gipuzkoa, it reports that Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi travelled to London on Sunday to complete his transfer to Arsenal.
