Arsenal are reportedly keeping a close eye on Sevilla midfielder Lucien Agoume as they search for a long-term replacement for Thomas Partey.

Softfootball understands reports from FootballTransfers claim the Gunners are leading the race to sign the 22-year-old, who has attracted interest from several top European clubs, including Barcelona.

Agoume began his professional career at Sochaux before joining Inter Milan, eventually completing a permanent move to Sevilla after a successful loan spell during the second half of last season. His current estimated transfer value is reported to be around €7.6 million.

The report also suggests the midfielder favours a move to the Premier League, which could hand Arsenal an advantage over other interested clubs. With uncertainty surrounding Partey’s long-term future at the Emirates, Agoume has emerged as one of the names being considered to strengthen Mikel Arteta’s midfield options.
