Noni Madueke has emerged as a potential target for Arsenal as Mikel Arteta looks to strengthen his attack ahead of the new campaign. The Chelsea winger is being considered as an alternative to Rodrygo after Arsenal missed out on Nico Williams, who chose Barcelona.

The Gunners are not just hunting for a new striker this summer. Arteta is prioritizing reinforcements on the wing, particularly someone who can rotate with Bukayo Saka and lessen the burden on the England international. Newcastle’s Anthony Gordon is also among the wide options being assessed.

Despite no official approach from Arsenal yet, Madueke’s versatility and improved goal contributions last season—11 goals and five assists—have placed him firmly on their radar. Arsenal have previously done business with Chelsea, including the signings of Jorginho and Kai Havertz.

Madueke’s time at Chelsea has been mixed. Although he showed flashes of quality, his inconsistency and issues in training drew criticism. He was dropped from the squad last December for disciplinary reasons, and his relationship with former managers came under scrutiny.

Though Enzo Maresca has publicly stated he wants Madueke in his plans for the upcoming season, speculation about his departure continues. Former midfielder John Obi Mikel expressed concerns over Madueke’s development, suggesting he needs to improve his consistency and defensive work rate.

Interestingly, Mikel also noted that Chelsea may look to offload Madueke in order to bring in a more complete winger. However, he believes the talent is undeniable and would prefer the club keep him while still adding depth in the position.

Arsenal’s main priority remains a new striker, with Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres still top of the list. But with wide reinforcements now a parallel focus, Madueke represents a realistic option if Chelsea are open to negotiations.

As the transfer window heats up, Madueke’s future may soon become one of the defining stories of Chelsea’s summer plans—and Arsenal’s.
