Arsenal’s 2025 summer transfer window is off to a slow start when it comes to incoming players, but there has been movement on the departure front. As June progresses, four players have already exited the Emirates Stadium, while fans eagerly await the club’s first official signing of the window.

So far, Kieran Tierney has returned to Celtic on a free, Jorginho has joined Flamengo, Nuno Tavares moved to Lazio in a £4.2 million deal, and Marquinhos signed for Cruzeiro on undisclosed terms. Despite these changes, the Gunners are yet to announce a new addition to Mikel Arteta’s squad.

Arsenal’s pursuit of top striker targets continues, with both Viktor Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko under consideration. However, the club lost ground on left-winger Nico Williams, who has reportedly pledged his future to Barcelona.

A breakthrough may finally be on the horizon. Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi is expected to become the Gunners’ first signing of the summer in a deal worth £51 million. Meanwhile, a £5 million agreement for Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga is also nearing completion. Sporting director Andrea Berta has been working behind the scenes on these deals, signaling the beginning of a new phase for the club following another competitive Premier League campaign.

So far this summer, Arsenal have recorded a total spend of £0, with income from sales totaling £4.2 million — all from Tavares’ move to Lazio. The net result is a positive transfer balance, though fans are eager to see reinforcements come through the door before the new season begins.

While no signings have been confirmed yet, activity behind the scenes suggests that Arsenal’s squad will look different in a matter of weeks. For now, supporters will have to remain patient as the club prepares to kickstart their recruitment drive.
