Arsenal 1-0 AC Milan: Saka shoots Gunners to pre-season win

Bukayo Saka was the hero of the day as he powered home the winner in Arsenal’s Pre-season match against Serie A side, AC Milan.

Softfootball can report that Arsenal won 1-0 in the game played at Singapore ensuring that Rosseneri new Coach, Massimoliano Allegri began his reign with a defeat.

Mikel Arteta started Saka alongside Nathan Nwaneri, Ben White and new summer signing Christian Norgaard while fellow new boy, Martin Zubimendi was on the bench.

AC Milan’s goalkeeper Pietro Terracciano was the main reason why the first half finished goalless as he made some inspired saves during the encounter.

However, in the second half, Arsenal broke the deadlock as the ever reliable Saka got on the end of Jakub Kiwior’s cross and finished superbly. The game ended 1-0.

Despite Arsenal winning the game, the pre-season friendly required penalty shout-out. Zubimendi scored his kick at sudden death but Marli Salmon missed for AC Milan as Arsenal won 6-5 on penalties.

Gunners boss, Mikel Arteta will surely be impressed by the victory as his side prepare to win the Premier League for the first time since 2004 and the UEFA Champions League for the first time ever.

Last season, Arsenal were tipped for the title because Manchester City lost form but they were beaten to the title by Liverpool in Arne Slots debut season.

Arsenal will continue their 2025 Asia Tour with a game against Premier League side, Newcastle United at the Singapore National Stadium on Sunday before concluding the tour on Thursday, July 31 against Tottenham Hotspur in Hong Kong.

The Gunner then return to London where friendlies against Villarreal and Athletic Bilbao will be played at Emirates Stadium. Arsenal begin their 2025/26 Premier League campaign against Manchester United on August 17.
