Arne Slot says playing or dropping Salah depends on what is best for Liverpool

Liverpool manager Arne Slot has revealed that it makes him uneasy to drop any player from his team including Mohamed Salah but most of his decisions depend on what is best for the Reds, Softfootball reports.

Salah returned from the 35th Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) where he led Egypt to a fourth-place finish following a penalty shootout loss to Nigeria in the losers-final, to feature in Liverpool’s 3-0 win over Marseille in the Match-Day 7 of the UEFA Champions League.

In an interview shared via Fabrizio Romano’s official X handle, Slot was asked if he would feel uneasy dropping Salah for a match after his return and he replied:

I always find it uneasy if I leave a player out and even more a player that has meant a lot for this club. But part of my job is making the decision that I think is the best for the team.

Liverpool will face Bournemouth this afternoon as they return to premier league action and after four consecutive draws, they would hope Salah can help the team return to winning ways in the Match-Day 23.

This might be Salah’s last season at the club as a big money move to the Saudi Arabia league may materialise for the forward, who is very appreciated on the Asian continent and seen as one of the world’s biggest stars.
