Alexander Isak forcing Newcastle exit wants Liverpool

Alexander Isak’s future at Newcastle United has reached a breaking point, with the Swedish striker making it clear he will never play for the club again.

Softfootball gathered that the 24-year-old has informed senior figures at St James’ Park that his relationship with the team is “completely over” and would refuse to feature even if he remains under contract.

The tension has escalated further following reports that Isak has already moved out of his Newcastle home, a symbolic gesture that underlines his determination to leave. Sources suggest the forward is now doing everything possible to secure a move to Liverpool before the close of the transfer window.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Isak has been at loggerheads with the Newcastle board for a month since he made his intention known that he wants to join the Reds. He also indicated that Liverpool will bid for Isak again in the coming days.

Fabrizio wrote the latest about Isak on his X handle

“Liverpool will bid again for Isak, as always planned since July…

Isak, who joined Newcastle from Real Sociedad in 2022 for a then club-record fee, has been one of the Premier League’s most consistent attacking threats when fit. Isak scored 23 goals in 34 Premier League appearances for the Magpies last season.

His pace, technical ability and finishing have made him a key figure in Eddie Howe’s side. However, the player’s stance indicates that the situation is beyond repair.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are admiring Isak as a potential replacement for Darwin Nunez, who left this summer for Saudi Arabia.

Although Liverpool has made some remarkable transfers this summer, Arne Slot believes he still needs a point man like Isak in marshalling offensive threats.
