AC Milan midfielder Tijjani Reijnders has spoken warmly about his close friendship with Udinese defender Kingsley Ehizibue, describing the Nigerian as his best friend both on and off the pitch.
The duo share a long history, having played together at Dutch club PEC Zwolle before establishing themselves in Serie A.
Softfootball reports the pair also hail from the city of Zwolle, with their friendship remaining strong despite representing different clubs in Italy’s top flight.
Speaking about their relationship, Reijnders revealed Ehizibue played a special role in one of the biggest moments of his life. He said:
Ehizibue from Udinese is my best friend, and he was also my best man at my wedding.
The Netherlands international reflected on how their careers have progressed since their days at PEC Zwolle, expressing pride in what they have both achieved.
We played together at PEC Zwolle and are from the same city, Zwolle. Now we are both professionals, and we both play in Italy,
he added.
Their enduring friendship has remained intact despite competing for different Serie A clubs, highlighting a bond that extends far beyond football.
