The 51-year-old manager arrives from fellow St Mirren, where he enjoyed a highly successful spell that included three consecutive top-six finishes in the Scottish Premiership and a League Cup triumph. Robinson will be joined at Aberdeen by his assistant Brian Kerr as part of the new coaching setup.

Robinson replaces former manager Jimmy Thelin, who was dismissed by the club on January 4 following a disappointing run of results. Since then, Aberdeen had been led by interim coach Peter Leven.

During Leven’s temporary spell in charge, Aberdeen struggled to regain form, winning just one of nine league matches while suffering seven defeats. Despite their difficult run, the club currently sit eight points above the relegation play-off spot.

Leven’s final match as interim manager came in a disappointing 3–0 defeat to Dunfermline Athletic in the quarter-finals of the Scottish Cup.

Robinson will take charge of Aberdeen for the first time this weekend when they face Falkirk at home in the Scottish Premiership, as the club aims to stabilise results and move away from the lower end of the table.

Meanwhile, in other managerial news, Igor Tudor has refused to comment on whether he is the right man to lead Tottenham Hotspur during their current struggles, stating only that the squad remains united despite the difficulties.

Elsewhere, Axel Disasi has expressed satisfaction with his loan spell at West Ham United after a difficult period at Chelsea, where he had been excluded from regular first-team action before seeking a move to regain playing time.
