Borussia Dortmund are expected to confirm the signing of highly rated Brazilian left-back Kauã Prates within the next 24 hours, following the completion of all formalities.
The update has been confirmed by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano on his official x handle.
Romano revealed:
Borussia Dortmund are set to confirm Kaua Prates as new signing in the next 24h. All signed with Cruzeiro and player’s camp. All agreements have been signed with Cruzeiro and the player’s camp, finalising a deal worth €7 million upfront with an additional €5 million in add-ons.
Softfootball previously reported that the 17-year-old had already begun the first stages of his medical after leaving his hotel early in the morning, with all documents in place.
Prates will officially join Dortmund in June 2026 and is viewed as a long-term investment at left-back. The move comes after inconsistent performances from Ramy Bensebaini, who has since lost his starting spot to Daniel Svensson, prompting the Bundesliga side to strengthen the position.
Meanwhile in England, Arsenal are set to face Wolverhampton Wanderers on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at 20:00 British time.
