Borussia Dortmund are loving life with Julian Ryerson right now and for good reason.
As reported by Fabrizio Romano via their official x handle, Dortmund are delighted with the Norwegian’s form, with Ryerson emerging as one of the most productive wing-backs in Europe this season. His latest performance was nothing short of outrageous.
Borussia Dortmund are very happy with Ryerson performances while European top clubs monitoring his progress. 4 assists yesterday vs Mainz, 6 assists in last 4 games and 13 assists this season so far.
In Dortmund’s 4–0 win over Mainz on February 13, Ryerson delivered a full-on assist masterclass, setting up all four goals.
Every strike came from his delivery, including a brace for Serhou Guirassy and another header for Maximilian Beier. That took his tally to six assists in his last four games and 13 assists in all competitions this season elite numbers for a wing back.
It’s no surprise that Europe’s big clubs are paying attention. Reports say Manchester United, Newcastle, and Barcelona are all monitoring Ryerson’s progress.
While he’s under contract at Dortmund until 2028, the club are believed to be open to talks starting around €35 million. Sources also suggest the 28-year-old is privately open to a move to the Premier League, where his salary could jump significantly.

Ryerson’s form has been a huge boost for a Dortmund side riding a wave of late drama and big moments. Softfootball highlighted their recent 3–3 draw with Eintracht Frankfurt, rescued by Carney Chukwuemeka’s 96th-minute equaliser, and a gritty 2–0 home win over Gladbach sealed by a late strike from Beier. Those results have kept Dortmund firmly in the title hunt.
After the latest round of fixtures, Dortmund sit second in the Bundesliga, just three points behind Bayern Munich. With Ryerson creating chances for fun, the Black and Yellows look very much in the race and their wing-back is fast becoming one of the hottest full-back/wing-back properties in Europe.
