Softfootball understands that Tommaso Baldanzi is on his way to Genoa to complete the final steps of his move from AS Roma, with medical examinations scheduled ahead of the official announcement. As reported by Fabrizio Romano via his official X account.
He posted:
Tommaso Baldanzi, on his way to Genova for medical as new Genoa player from AS Roma.
Following a recent report that Tommaso is close to joining Genoa, De Rossi is keen to integrate Baldanzi quickly, with the intention of having him available for Genoa’s upcoming Serie A clash against Bologna. Whether he starts or not is another question, but the timing matters.

An important detail in the deal is the inclusion of a swap element. Genoa’s young forward Lorenzo Venturino, born in 2006, is set to move to Roma as part of the agreement. The double transfer was finalised by agent Giuseppe Riso at Roma’s Trigoria training ground today.
Venturino caught attention last season with a brace against Bologna, though he has seen limited minutes this year under a new coaching setup.

Baldanzi joined Roma, who recently defeated Como 1-0 in Serie A, from Empoli in February 2024 for around €10 million. He operates mainly as a classic number 10 but can also drift wide on the left. Technically gifted and sharp between the lines, he has made 54 appearances for Roma, scoring 2 goals and providing 2 assists.
This season, opportunities have been scarce. Baldanzi has featured in just 10 Serie A matches, mostly off the bench, totalling only 390 minutes. His omission from the squad against Torino was due to a minor injury. Genoa now offers him something simple, yet vital: minutes, trust, and a fresh start. Sometimes that’s all a player really needs.
