Super Falcons star Asisat Oshoala has cautioned the Super Eagles that their AFCON 2025 semi-final match against Morocco will be far from easy, Softfootball reports.

Oshoala, who plays as a striker for Saudi Women’s Premier League club Al Hilal and the Nigeria women’s national team, is widely regarded as one of the best female footballers of her generation.

Reacting via her X (formerly Twitter) account, the Nigerian forward suggested that Morocco are still hurting from their loss to Nigeria in the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) final, where the Super Falcons defeated them 3–2.

According to Oshoala, that painful defeat could influence Morocco’s approach to the upcoming AFCON semi-final against Nigeria’s men’s team.

Her post read in Nigerian Pidgin English:

That semi final no go easy sha o cus that WAFCON still dey pain Morocco. Them go do everything and anything but the world will be watching. People wey carry referee wey officiate our final go court 😭 #AFCON2025

Translated, Oshoala implied that Morocco are still bitter about the WAFCON final loss and may go all out in the AFCON semi-final, reminding fans that the referee from that women’s final was even taken to court afterward.

Her statement has generated widespread reactions online, especially as the Super Eagles have been in excellent form throughout the AFCON 2025 tournament and are widely tipped as favourites to lift the trophy.

Nigeria’s clash with Morocco is now shaping up to be one of the most anticipated matches of the competition, with football fans across Africa watching closely.
