Girona frustrated Real Madrid to a 1-1 draw in the Match-Day 14 of LaLiga, making it three consecutive draws for the Los Blancos, Softfootball reports.
It was joy in midweek when Real Madrid beat Olympiacos 4-3 during the Match-Day 5 of the UEFA Champions League but they seem not to know how to replicate that winning mentality in the domestic scene and losing grounds to their bitter rivals Barcelona.

Real Madrid via their official X handle shared the disappointing result with their fans, who expected more from the 15-time Champions League winners. They posted:

Real Madrid manager, Xabi Alonso, who recently completed 44 years old, was obviously disappointed by the outcome of the match as he expected more from his boys on the day.
Real Madrid thought they had taken the lead against Girona when Kylian Mbappe controlled the ball with his back to goal with defender Arnau Martinez falling to the floor. The France international juggled the ball at close control before squeezing away a shot. But after some VAR review the goal was removed for handball during the buildup.

However, at the other end, Azzedine Ounahi puts Girona in front. The Morocco forward’s shot left former Chelsea goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois routed to the spot when the ball nestles in the top corner. It was indeed a beautiful goal.
It was a very tight match but Real Madrid found a way back as Vinicius Junior was brought down and Kylain Mbappe scored from 12 yards despite Paulo Gazzaniga guessing the right way. The goal made it 1-1 and 14 goals for Mbappe in La Liga for him this season.
