Barcelona Coach Hansi Flick has declared that Spanish superstar, Lamine Yamal is ready for the match against Athletic Bilbao, Softfootball reports.

The Catalan giants will play at the Camp Nou for the first time in over two years due to major redevelopment works which forced the team to temporary use the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys.

Football expert, Fabrizio Romano shared via his official X handle, the pre-match interview of Hansi Flick where he assured that Lamine Yamal is ready for the match at the refurbished Camp Nou on Saturday. He said:

I think Lamine Yamal is ready for tomorrow. He’s been working very well and I’m pleased with that. I think it was good for him to rest from games these two weeks.

Yamal has struggled with a recurring pubalgia injury, which has limited his playing time this season. The injury has caused him to miss multiple games for both Barcelona and the Spanish national team, leading to some tension between the two organizations regarding player management.

Barcelona’s 4-2 victory over Celta Vigo was their last match in LaLiga before the international break. Interestingly, Yamal featured and scored in that match but wasn’t able to play for Spain due to doctor’s advice as they qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Barcelona are now only three points behind archrivals Real Madrid on the LaLiga table. The Catalan giants have 28 points from 12 matches so far as they look to retain their title this season.
