Football is often separated from politics because they don’t mix very well but both are two of the most powerful tools in building a healthy space for humanity. Football is so powerful it can end wars with the help of willing politicians and we’ve witnessed it happened in the past.

Softfootball can report authoritatively that the aim of football superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo’s visit to arguably the most powerful man in the world, United States President Donald Trump was to drum home the message of peace following wars in Ukraine and Russia and other parts of the world.

Although, White House officials described Ronaldo’s visit as a casual sidebar on international relations and sports investments ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Ronaldo who missed Portugal’s 9-1 demolition of Armenia was in the company of the Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who was in the United States to discuss a $600 billion business investment in the country which could rise to a trillion.

After the dinner which had the likes which had in attendance Melania Trump, JD Vance, Apple CEO Tim Cook, Elon Musk, FIFA President Giovanni Infantino and others at the White House, Cristiano Ronaldo had a selfie with all of them as shared by football expert, Fabrizio Romano via his official X handle. He posted:

Just before the dinner, during Trumps speech, the U.S President honoured Cristiano Ronaldo’s presence and revealed that his son is a huge fan of the AL Nassr forward. He said:

My son is a big fan of Ronaldo. And Baron (Trump) got to meet him, and I think he respects his father a little bit more now, just the fact that I introduced you.

Here is the video of the dinner via the DRM News official youtube channel. A big night for great men and women from all works of life in one room. Watch below.

President Trump has always been a fan of football even when it’s not the number one sports in the United States. Trump caused a stir during the FIFA Club World Cup when he refused to step away from the podium celebrations after handing Chelsea’s captain, Reece James the trophy. The Blues hammered UEFA Champions League winners, Paris Saint-Germain 3-0 in that final as they added the title to the Europa Conference League, they won last season.

President Trump might attend the 2034 FIFA World Cup which Saudi Arabia will host and Cristiano Ronaldo helped in promoting their bid which explains his very good relationship with the Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
