Red hot Kane ready for more goals as Bayern face Dortmund in Der Klassiker

Harry Kane has got his shooting boots ready as Bayern Munich welcomes bitter rivals Borussia Dortmund to the Allianz Arena on Saturday night for the first Der Klassiker of the season, Softfootball reports.

The England international scored twice when the Three Lions destroyed Latvia 5-0 to seal their 2026 FIFA World Cup place to be hosted in North America countries of the United States, Mexico and Canada.

Bayern Munich’s official X handle shared a pre-match interview where Vincent Kompany talked about his expectation for the derby. He said:

We have the motivation for this classic, first against second, both undefeated.

We’re looking forward to this game, they’ve shown a lot of stability, have players who can always score, with Serhou Guirassy a player who doesn’t need many chances.

Bayern Munich’s official X handle went ahead to post a video of a solo goal by former Arsenal winger Serge Gnabry to remind Dortmund what they are in for.

Harry Kane has scored 21 goals so far for club and country. He is arguably the best striker in the world at the moment and will be looking to increase his goals tally against Dortmund.

Bavarian midfielder Jamal Musiala and left back Alphonso Davies are recovering from injuries and won’t be available for this game. Same for the likes of Hiroki Iro and Josip Stanisic.

Dortmund have a started rallying up their fans with promotion of the game via their official X handle.

Dortmund’s official X handle shared an interview of manager, Niko Kovac speaking about the readiness of striker Serhou Guirassy and his team. He said:

He was really annoyed that he took a knock to his thigh and couldn’t help the lads as much as we’re used to seeing him do. He came back early and has now been able to prepare really well for Saturday.

Dortmund’s influential midfielder Emre Can is still recovering from a groin injury and will miss the Bayern Munich game. Also, Argentina’s Aaron Anselmino, who is on loan from Chelsea is also out due to injury. Julien Duranville is also out with a shoulder injury.
