Alphonso Davies has confirmed he is close to returning from the serious knee injury he suffered earlier this year. The Bayern Munich defender said he is finally enjoying training again after a long and difficult recovery. He said:
The future looks good; the hardest part of rehab is now behind me. I’m excited and looking forward to rejoining the team and playing the sport I love. I can’t wait.

His update comes as Bayern Munich continue their strong form under Vincent Kompany, as seen in SoftFootball’s match report on their big win over Bremen.
The 24-year-old picked up the injury in March while representing Canada in the CONCACAF Nations League bronze final against the USA. He tore his ACL, MCL, and meniscus, often called the “unhappy triad”. Davies has been recovering at Bayern’s Säbener Straße facility, focusing on strength work and light running.

His progress has been steady, giving both Bayern and Canadian fans reason to be hopeful. More about Bayern’s title ambitions was recently covered in SoftFootball’s piece on Harry Kane’s Ballon d’Or dream.
Fabrizio Romano, via his official X account, shared an optimistic update from Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies, who states his ACL rehab’s toughest phase is complete and expresses eagerness to return to the pitch.

Davies is expected to return to full training by November 2025. His comeback would be a major lift for Kompany’s side, who have missed his pace and energy on the left flank. The Canadian remains one of the most explosive full-backs in world football, and his return could be key to Bayern’s push for more silverware this season.
