France manager, Didier Deschamps has confirmed that star man, Kylian Mbappe had ankle discomfort during the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Azerbaijan, Softfootball reports.
Mbappe scored his 53rd goal for the national team as France beat Azerbaijan 3-0 at the Parc des Princes, which was his 10th goal in a row. However, the starman ended the game with discomfort with his ankle.

Speaking after the game, Deschamps said in an interview shared via Fabrizio Romano’s official X handle. He said:
It’s the same ankle where he was hurt. The pain decreases when he rests.
In a match, contacts are inevitably going to happen. We will assess it. He has discomfort that is not ideal for him.
Mbappe has been in fantastic form this season and Deschamps will be hoping he returns in time for their next game against Iceland on Monday.
France are currently top of Group D with 9 points after three wins after three matches.
