Arsenal in advanced talks over new contracts for Bukayo Saka and William Saliba

Arsenal are in increasing talks to extend the stay of their duo of players, Bukayo Saka and William Saliba, as both players are closer to the expiration of their contracts, Softfootball can report.

Softfootball understands that Arsenal have been working tirelessly to keep both players, seeing that their impacts have been enormously important for the club since they arrived at the club. While Saka is a homegrown talent from the Arsenal academy who got promoted to the senior team in 2018, Saliba joined a year later from French club St. Etienne. Although Saka and Saliba have recently been injured, the Mikel Arteta-led team believes their presence makes things work for the team.

In addition to the value either of the players brings to the team, Saka, who recently bagged Arsenal’s goal of the month for August, has been a focal point in attack for the Arteta-led team consistently for the past three seasons, scoring over 50 goals since he broke into the senior team. Likewise, Saliba has been a major factor for Arsenal’s clean sheets last season, whereby the club recorded fewer conceded goals, 34, than other teams in the EPL.

Here is the highlight of Saka’s goal as shared on Arsenal’s X handle:

As reported by Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano on his official X handle, he shared that Arsenal are keen to extend the days of both Saka and Saliba, with Mikel Arteta testifying to the claim and also including that the players want to remain in North London.

He wrote:

Talks are very, very good. The good thing is the players want to remain here and they want to be a big part of the history of this club.

With the mutual interest of both parties, Bukayo Saka and Saliba have certainly chalked out any possible plans of moving away from the Emirates and, in addition, increasing their current wages. Saka, who has been on an estimated wage of ÂŁ195,000 per week, will likely match up with players like Kai Havertz, Declan Rice, or Gabriel Jesus, who are top earners at the London club after the contract extension.
