Olympique de Marseille are very close to securing the services of Ivory Coast midfielder baller Hamed Junior Traoré, with the 25-year-old set to arrive on loan from Bournemouth, with an option to buy.
The agreement, which both clubs have already concluded, and Softfootball understands that Traore is now only awaiting final administrative clearance before being made official. For Marsielle, this might signify a strong partnership of Traore and Real Madrid’s Dani Ceballos, another top star being linked strongly with Marsielle, with a deal expected to be completed soon.

After battling for playing time under Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola, Traoré has already agreed to the transfer and is excited to take on a new challenge. The deal gives Marseille the chance to improve their midfield with a versatile player who made a storming impact while on loan with Auxerre last season.
With 10 goals and two assists in 26 league games the previous season, Traoré was among France’s top ballers. Clubs both inside and outside of France expressed renewed interest in his performances, and Marseille quickly jumped ahead of the competition.

Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano also confirmed the agreement on his official X account, noting that the deal will initially cost around €7 million with a long-term contract being prepared. Reports also suggest Bournemouth will retain a sell-on clause, although final figures are still being clarified.

“Hamed Junior Traoré to Olympique Marseille, here we go! Verbal agreement done with Bournemouth for €7m initial fee, contract until June 2030 and 50% sell-on clause for #BHAFC. Formal steps to follow next”
For Traoré, this transfer is fuelled by a strong desire for consistent playing time and a belief in Marseille’s long-term project. He is expected to sign a five-year deal once the loan is completed, bringing him back to Ligue 1 and straight into the heart of OM’s plans for the 2025/26 season.
