Arsenal have officially confirmed the arrival of Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace, sealing one of the biggest moves of the summer transfer window. The deal, announced on Saturday, August 23, 2025, is worth up to £67.5 million (60m guaranteed plus £7.5m in add-ons) and represents a significant coup for Mikel Arteta’s side, who beat rivals Tottenham Hotspur to the midfielder’s signature.
The Gunners announced on their official X account, dropping an exciting video featuring Arsenal legend Ian Wright.

The 27-year-old England international is no stranger to north London. Eze came through Arsenal’s academy before being released as a teenager, making his way back to the Premier League the hard way. He earned his reputation with Queens Park Rangers, where he was named Player of the Year in 2020, before establishing himself as one of Crystal Palace’s standout stars. His defining moment in south London came last May, when he scored the winning goal in the FA Cup final against Manchester City.

Softfootball understands that Eze, who has signed a long-term contract, will wear the famous No. 10 shirt at Arsenal, a jersey previously donned by Thierry Henry and Dennis Bergkamp. His unveiling at the Emirates ahead of the Gunners’ clash with Leeds United was greeted with huge applause, though registration rules meant he couldn’t feature.
Manager Mikel Arteta hailed the signing, calling Eze a powerful and exciting player and praising his mentality. He also spoke about his happiness to officially have Eze in his team.
He Said:
“We are absolutely delighted to bring Eberechi to Arsenal. He is a powerful and exciting player who will give us a new dimension in our attacking game. What stands out just as much as his talent and intelligence as a player, is the way he has worked hard throughout his career to get where he is today.”
“His journey, his mentality, and his ambition are exactly what we want in our team, and we love how much it means to him and his family to be joining our club. We all look forward to starting to work with Eberechi soon.”
For Eze, the move is more than just a transfer, it’s a return to the club where his football story began. With Arsenal pushing for silverware at home and in Europe, his creativity and attacking flair could be the missing spark Arteta’s side has been searching for.
