Manchester City and Tottenham go head to head this afternoon, with both sides looking to overtake Chelsea and claim top spot in the Premier League standings.

Arguably the most anticipated game of the weekend, the new look Spurs against a rejuvenated Man City could be a seriously fun match. Pep Guardiola’s men made the perfect start to their title defence with a commanding 4-0 victory away at Wolves.

Erling Haaland netted a brace, while debutants Tijani Reijnders and Rayan Cherki also got on the scoresheet. Former Wolves defender Rayan Ait-Nouri impressed on his return to Molineux as City climbed to the top of the early Premier League standings on goal difference last weekend.

Tottenham were equally convincing in their opener, sweeping aside newly promoted Burnley 3-0. Richarlison struck twice, including a stunning overhead kick that is already being talked about as one of the goals of the season. Brennan Johnson added the third, continuing his fine scoring form in a Spurs shirt.

The standout performer last weekend however, was Mohamed Kudus. The Ghanaian playmaker registered two assists on debut, immediately winning over the Spurs faithful and offering plenty of promise for the season ahead.
