Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano provided the latest update on his X handle this morning, stating the position of both clubs over Muniz. The Brazilian made double-digit contributions in goals and assists last season, as Fulham finished 11th in the EPL.
He wrote:
“Atalanta are confident to get Rodrigo Muniz deal done with Fulham as talks are advancing.
“Muniz, keen on move to Serie A with negotiations underway.”
As a result of his breakout season, the 23-year-old forward has caught the attention of Atalanta, who are looking to reinforce their attacking options ahead of a campaign that will include both domestic and European commitments.
The deal is seen as a potential replacement for embattled Ademola Lookman, who is on the verge of leaving the former Europa League champions to join Inter Milan, who have also made multiple requests for the Nigerian. Atalanta have been managing the situation, but it doesn’t guarantee the stay of Lookman.
Meanwhile, Muniz’s willingness to join has given La Dea further belief that a deal can be completed swiftly, with discussions now focused on the final details of the transfer. Fulham are open to a sale if the right terms are met, paving the way for a potential announcement in the coming days.
