Arsenal returned to winning ways as they defeated Spanish side, Athletic Bilbao. The match was played as relation to the Emirates Cup at he Emirates stadium. The game ended 3-0 and Softfootball followed the game as Arsenal ran riot against Bilbao.
The most interesting part of the day will be Viktor Gyokeres scoring his first goal for the Gunners. The striker had played three matches and was becoming a long ask as to when he will score his first for the club.

A well placed cross by fellow new signing, Martin Zubimendi was met precisely and accurately by Gyokeres to give Arsenal a deserved lead.
The Gunners started to cruise when Saka double the lead only two minutes later. It was a dominating performance against a side that had Nico Williams who is described as on of the most dangerous winger in Europe at the moment. The first 4 ended in Arsenal’s way.
The second half would have no much action until the 81st minute when Kai Havertz made it three for the gunners. The Gunners needed such a rousing comeback after being defeated by Villareal only days ago. Arteta’s side had also lost the first ever North London derby outside of Europe 1-0 in Hong Kong during their Asia tour.
All of that has been overshowed with Gyokeres’ goal and celebration as the fans were wowed. The Swedish had been banging goals for fun at Sporting CP. He made 97 goals in 102 matches. He has now scored what many will call the first of many in his Arsenal career.
Gyokeres was subbed off for Kai Havertz who scored the third goal. The match ended in a penalty shoot out which Arsenal won.
The Swedish striker had a few words to say after full-time. Watch below the video he made as posted by Arsenal on their official X handle:
Reacting to Gyokeres’ goal, transfer journalist, Fabrizio Romano posted about the goal already on his verified X handle. He wrote:
“Gyokeres mask has landed as it has landed in the Emirates stadium. Beautiful header with assist from Zubimendi.”
