According to football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano via his official X handle, Nwaneri’s commitment to Mikel Arteta’s side was never in doubt and penning the new deal confirms that.

He wrote:

“Official, confirmed. Ethan Nwaneri signs new five year deal at Arsenal as expected.”

Nwaneri became the youngest player in history to play for Arsenal’s first-team in the Premier League at 15 years and 181 days in 2022 and has never slowed down since then becoming more of a mainstay in the first team until now.

In January this year, Nwaneri marked some remarkable moments for career. He became the third player after retired England legends Michael Owen and Wayne Rooney to score three Premier League goals before his 18th birthday.

He also got his first UEFA Champions League goal at Girona in February. The goal won Arsenal Goal of the Month award, and he wentbon to be named Arsenal’s Player of the Month for February.

February was truly a special month and he wrapped it up with a beautiful goal during the Gunners 5-1 victory over Manchester City.

Speaking to the Arsenal official club media, Nwaneri was excited by the new contract and happy to stay at the North London club.

He said:

“Signing this contract means everything to me. I see this as my first real season in men’s senior football, as part of the squad in the changing room. I’m so excited for what I can bring to the team, I want to help us win as much as possible and bring happiness and glory to the club. This is where I feel at home.”

Here is a video shared on the Arsenal official X handle after Nwaneri penned his new deal:

Chelsea tried to poach Nwaneri during negotiations for Noni Madueke but Arsenal insisted that the player was not for sale and they’ve further confirmed that with his new contract.

Arsenal open their Premier League campaign against Manchester United on August 17 at Old Trafford.
