Alvaro Morata is reportedly set to join Serie A side, Como after a €5m compensation deal was agreed with Galatasaray to terminate his loan from AC Milan.
Softfootball understands that this move frees the Spaniard to complete a permanent transfer to Como, where he will reunite with former team-mate Cesc Fabregas. The deal also includes a €10m payment from Como to Milan for Morata’s contract, which is set to run through 2028.

Morata, scored seven goals in 16 matches for Galatasaray in 2024/25 but sought a return to Serie A to boost his 2026 World Cup chances. Como, led by Cesc Fabregas, secured Morata’s signature over interest from Fenerbahce, outpacing a €4m offer.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano via his X handle, he confirmed that Morata’s sensational move to Como is a done deal and the Italian club has reached an agreement with Galatasaray, securing a €5m compensation fee to terminate the striker’s loan.
Morata is now set to undergo his medical and finalize travel arrangements. Como will sign the Spanish star from AC Milan on a loan deal, which includes an obligation to buy.
His tweet reads:
“Álvaro Morata to Como, here we go! Deal agreed with Galatasaray for fee close to €5m as compensation to break the loan.
Authorization for medical and travel next:
Como will now sign Morata from AC Milan on loan with obligation to buy.
Morata only wanted Como.”
While Alvaro Morata’s club future appears to have been solved, there is still some uncertainty around his international career.
The former Chelsea forward said he is considering calling it quits with Spain after his costly penalty miss in the Nations League final defeat to Portugal back in June.
