Noni Madueke finally made his much awaited debut in an Arsenal shirt as the Gunners fell to a 3-2 defeat in regulation time and 4-3 in a penalty shoot-out. Softfootball followed as the Gunners fell on their return to the Emirates stadium for the first time since May.
Madueke had been on extended holidays due to his participation in helping Chelsea win the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. He missed out on Arsenal’s Asia tour because of his holiday.

The English international made his first outing as a substitute in the 77th minute coming on for Gabriel Martinelli. He missed a big chance in the 13 minutes played and also missed his spot kick. This 13 minutes put a lot of Arsenal fans on the worry as they had been divided when Arsenal announced his signing.
Arsenal and Chelsea fans debated on a video that highlighted Madueke missing his spot kick against Villareal. The video was posted on Facebook by an account named – Chelsea Fans Worldwide. The post was made with a caption:

Softfootball dived into Madueke’s penalty record to see what his records are. The new Arsenal winger has only played 11 penalties in his career. He has scored 8 and missed 3.
His first task of taking a penalty was in an England shirt for the U15s in 2017. England won the friendly game against Slovenia 5-1 with Madueke taking two penalties. He missed one and scored the other. He then took 5 penalties for PSV U19 team, he managed to score 4 and missed one.
His first penalty as a senior player was for PSV U21, he scored it to help the team earn a point with a 1-1 draw. At Chelsea, he only played two penalties which he scored both. One in the EFL Cup against AFC Wimbledon and the other against Crystal Palace in the Premier League which Chelsea won 2-1.
Madueke might have had a first 13 minute for the Gunners but he has the whole season to rewrite the books in favour of him in the minds of the Arsenal fans.
