Alexander Isak’s transfer saga took a new twist today as Manchester United tried to hijack Liverpool’s deal for the striker, Softfootball reports.
The Sweden international is currently in Spain training with his former club Real Siciedad as he awaits resolution on his future.

According to Florian Plettenberg via his official X handle revealed that Liverpool’s arch-rivals Manchester United who are in dire need of a striker tried to convince Isak on a move to Old Trafford.
He wrote:
“Understand Alexander #Isak has once again made it clear that he only wants to join Liverpool FC.
“Even Manchester United made an enquiry in recent days, but Isak turned it down. He only wants #LFC.
“The player’s camp remain optimistic that an agreement can be reached this transfer window, after a £120m bid was rejected by #NUFC. Isak’s agreement with LFC until 2031 is 100% done.”
Interestingly, Newcastle United has placed a £150 million price-tag on the player with Liverpool and Saudi Arabia clubs interested in the Sweden international.
Despite already signing Hugo Ekitike for £95million from Frankfurt, the Reds had a bid of around £120 million for Isak rejected by Newcastle as they would only consider the full £150 million.
The expectation is for the Reds to return with a better offer for Isak but Liverpool hierarchy are not happy with how Newcastle United are going about the deal as they are not giving room for proper negotiations.
The Magpies are already looking for a replacement Incase, Liverpool meets their valuation for Isak in the coming days. Eddie Howe’s men are weighing up the possibility of signing Brentford striker, Yannick Wissa and the DR Congo international has already informed his club of his willingness to leave this summer.
Another player on Newcastle’s radar is Benjamin Šeško and they are ready to pay the required £70million plus add-ons to secure his services but the player seems to have set his mind on a more to Manchester United this summer.
Isak has said he doesn’t want to play for Newcastle United anymore and has not featured in any Pre-season friendly so far.
Isak scored 23 goals last season to help the Magpies return to the UEFA Champions League as they finished fifth in the Premier League.
