Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta has explained what new signing Noni Madueke would bring into his side ahead of the 2025/26 season, Softfootball reports.

The England winger was a regular at Chelsea but slowly lost his place to Pedro Neto on the right side of Chelsea midfield and when the opportunity came for a move he switched without hesitation.

According to Arsenal official website, Noni who has signed to a long time deal will wear the number 20 jersey for the Gunners next season.

The former Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur academy player moved to the Netherlands in 2018 to play for PSV Eindhoven in 2018. At 17, he made rapid progress, racking up 80 first-team appearances for the Dutch Club and stayed a first team player until his move to Chelsea in January 2023.

Arsenal Coach, Arteta has expressed delight over the signing of Madueke.

He said:

“We’re all so happy to welcome Noni Madueke to the team.

“Noni is an exciting and powerful young player, with his performances and numbers in recent seasons being of consistently high quality. He is one of the most talented wide forward players in the Premier League.

“At just 23, Noni already brings experience of club and international football, and he knows the Premier League very well. Having seen the quality of Noni’s performances up close in recent seasons, we’re really excited he is joining us.

“Noni joins our group with familiar England teammates and other players he knows. He will be made to feel at home straight away. His arrival will really improve our squad – we’re all thrilled to have him here. From all of us, welcome Noni and welcome to your family.”

Also speaking at the unveiling press conference, Sporting Director Andrea Berta said he was delighted with the capture of the skillful winger.

He revealed:

“We’re very pleased to have concluded an excellent deal for a hugely talented young player in Noni Madueke.

“Noni’s performance numbers and availability over recent seasons have been exceptional, reflecting his quality and professionalism. Noni is a dynamic, versatile wide forward player with strong technical ability who will significantly strengthen our squad.

“Noni already has valuable experience at the top level and we know he will make a big impact at Arsenal. Together with everyone at the club, we warmly welcome Noni to Arsenal.”

Softfootball previously informed on the agreement between Chelsea and Arsenal on the sale of Noni Madueke.

Madueke represented Chelsea at the Club World Cup and only missed the final because he was finalising his Arsenal deal. As a result, he is not expected to resume immediately at Arsenal until early August after after the Gunners Asia tour.
