Arsenal are closing in on their fourth summer signing after reportedly agreeing personal terms with highly-rated Valencia defender Cristhian Mosquera.
Mikel Arteta’s side, initially slow to act in the transfer window, are now ramping up activity as they aim to strengthen key areas of the squad ahead of the new season. The Gunners are expected to confirm the £55 million signing of Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad next week, with the Spanish club requesting a delay in the announcement until July.

In addition to Zubimendi, Arsenal have reached a £5 million agreement with Chelsea to sign goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, once the world’s most expensive shot-stopper. The club also anticipate finalising a deal for Brentford’s midfield enforcer Christian Norgaard, with preparations underway for his medical at the Emirates.
Now, attention turns to 19-year-old Mosquera. Although Arsenal’s initial offer has been rejected by Valencia, the player is said to be eager to make the move to North London. The Gunners are expected to return with an improved bid to secure the deal.
Mosquera, who has impressed in La Liga with his composure and defensive maturity, is viewed as a long-term asset. His arrival would bolster Arsenal’s defensive options, particularly amid speculation around the futures of Kieran Tierney and Thomas Partey.

Arteta is keen to reinforce his squad depth as Arsenal look to mount another Premier League title challenge next season. The club’s recruitment drive is being shaped not only by quality but also by versatility and long-term potential — and Mosquera fits that blueprint perfectly.
