Manchester City are preparing a formal bid for Newcastle United defender Tino Livramento as they look to secure a long-term replacement for Kyle Walker. The Premier League champions are shifting their transfer focus to the right-back position, following recent signings of Tijjani Reijnders, Rayan Ait-Nouri, and Rayan Cherki ahead of the Club World Cup.

Walker’s departure has left a void at right-back, currently being filled by Matheus Nunes and Rico Lewis. However, City boss Pep Guardiola is reportedly keen on bringing in a specialist for the role, with Livramento identified as the leading candidate.
According to GiveMeSport, the 22-year-old England Under-21 international tops City’s shortlist, which includes three other options. Livramento had a standout season at St James’ Park, making 37 Premier League appearances and establishing himself as a crucial figure in Eddie Howe’s squad.
Despite Newcastle’s strong desire to retain Livramento, who is under contract until June 2028, Manchester City believe they can tempt the young full-back to join their ranks at the Etihad. The club is expected to submit an official offer in the coming days.
While City are confident of luring Livramento with the prospect of regular starts under Guardiola, Newcastle remain equally confident that the player is settled and committed to their project. His long-term deal gives them a solid position in any negotiation battle that may unfold this summer.
