Chelsea are on the verge of securing Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund, while the German giants have now set their sights on a £35m-rated Blues talent.
The 20-year-old winger has emerged as a priority for Enzo Maresca, who is keen to strengthen Chelsea’s left wing. Although a £42 million offer for Gittens was initially rejected by Dortmund, both clubs remain optimistic. Personal terms have already been agreed, and the deal is expected to be finalized once the Club World Cup concludes, with both sides progressing to the round of 16.
Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund are also targeting Chelsea’s teenage defensive sensation, Josh Acheampong. According to The Independent, Inter Milan, Newcastle United, and Tottenham Hotspur are all monitoring the 19-year-old, who made his Premier League debut in January.

Acheampong played 12 times across competitions last season and impressed in Chelsea’s Conference League triumph. He also featured in their 3-0 win over ES Tunis in the Club World Cup. While several loan offers have been turned down, reports suggest Chelsea might entertain a permanent sale — for a fee in the region of £35 million — particularly if talks with Dortmund over Gittens go smoothly.

The young defender, who can operate at both centre-back and right-back, is well-regarded by Maresca and hopes to start against Benfica on Saturday. “It’s important the manager has faith in me,” Acheampong said. “Every game in this competition is hard. We just have to keep winning.”
As Chelsea prepare for a busy transfer window, the potential double deal with Dortmund signals the start of a significant reshuffle under Maresca’s leadership.
