AC Milan have set their sights on Andreas Christensen as they plan for a new era under Massimiliano Allegri. With defensive reinforcements a priority, the Rossoneri see the Barcelona centre-back as a strong option for their summer transfer plans.

The 28-year-old Danish defender is entering the final year of his contract, which could limit Barcelona’s leverage in negotiations. That factor hasn’t gone unnoticed in Milan, who are closely monitoring his situation with hopes of securing a bargain deal.

Barcelona’s defence is currently packed, with Pau Cubarsi, Inigo Martinez, Eric Garcia, Ronald Araujo, and Christensen all competing for game time. Club management sees the need to offload at least one centre-back, as recently acknowledged by sporting director Deco.

Within the Catalan club, Cubarsi and Martinez are expected to remain key players, while Flick is eager to retain Garcia. That leaves Araujo and Christensen as the most likely candidates for departure as Barcelona seek to trim their squad.

Despite being on the potential exit list, Christensen may not be keen on a move. Reports from Spain suggest he prefers to stay in Barcelona for the final year of his deal. His family is reportedly settled, and he’s focused on earning more playing time next season.

Ultimately, while Barcelona remain open to offers for Christensen, they could face challenges persuading him to leave. Milan, however, remain hopeful that their interest and Barcelona’s squad situation could align for a summer deal.
