Real Madrid head into their final Club World Cup group match with concerns over player availability, as several first-team stars remain sidelined due to injury setbacks. Los Blancos, tied on four points with Red Bull Salzburg in Group H, aim to secure knockout stage qualification when the two teams clash at Lincoln Financial Field on Thursday.
While Salzburg drew 0-0 with Al-Hilal on matchday two, Madrid’s mixed results – a 1-1 draw against Al-Hilal followed by a 3-1 win over Pachuca – have kept them top of the group on goal difference.
Injury troubles continue to limit Real Madrid’s squad options. Eduardo Camavinga, sidelined since April with an adductor issue, is still recovering and won’t feature in the upcoming game. His rehabilitation is progressing well, and he remains hopeful of returning later in the tournament.
Ferland Mendy, who suffered a thigh rupture during the Copa del Rey final loss to Barcelona, has faced complications in his recovery. The left-back may now be out of action until October. Dani Carvajal and David Alaba are both recovering from knee injuries and, despite earlier optimism about a possible return, have been advised to delay any competitive involvement until the pre-season period.

Meanwhile, Eder Militao absent since November with an ACL injury – has resumed training with the squad. Though nearing match fitness, the coaching staff remains cautious about rushing his return in a high-stakes match.
Endrick is also unavailable, as the youngster stays in Madrid to continue rehabilitation on a hamstring injury sustained during the final league game of the season. He is not expected to travel with the squad during the tournament.

Kylian Mbappe’s condition remains uncertain. Hospitalised with gastroenteritis before the tournament, he has missed both of Madrid’s group games. There is optimism that he may recover in time to face Salzburg, but his involvement is not yet guaranteed.

As Madrid prepare for a critical showdown with Salzburg, the injury list poses selection challenges for Xabi Alonso. Despite the setbacks, Real Madrid remain focused on progressing to the next stage of the Club World Cup.
