Manchester United have made a fresh move in the transfer market by setting their sights on Fiorentina striker Moise Kean, according to reports in Italy. The Red Devils are believed to be exploring a summer bid as they look to reinforce their forward line under new head coach Ruben Amorim.
Kean enjoyed a breakout season at Fiorentina, netting 19 goals and adding three assists in Serie A, earning a spot in the Team of the Season. After difficult stints at Everton and Juventus, the 25-year-old appears to have reignited his career in Florence.
The Italian international could become available for €52 million (£44.5m) due to a release clause that activates between July 1 and 15. This has placed United on red alert, with Fiorentina reportedly bracing for bids during that window. Saudi club Al-Qadsiah are also monitoring the situation.

While Kean remains on vacation and in no rush to decide, Fiorentina are determined to keep him, privately insisting he’s part of their plans for the future. His current contract runs until June 2029.
United’s interest in Kean follows their £62.5 million signing of Matheus Cunha from Wolves, a move that kickstarted their summer rebuild. Following a dismal 2024–25 campaign that saw them miss out on Champions League football and post a historic low points tally, attacking reinforcements are top priority.
They’re also reportedly closing in on Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo, who is keen on a move to Old Trafford despite interest from Tottenham. The Cameroon international recently hinted he’s open to a change but understands the uncertainty that comes with transfer windows.

Former United defender Rio Ferdinand has joined the conversation, backing the club to pursue Napoli’s Victor Osimhen instead. “The comments know, the people know who I want – Osimhen,” he said on his YouTube show. While Osimhen is said to have rejected a Saudi move, it remains to be seen whether United will make a formal approach.
As the July window approaches and Kean’s release clause looms, all eyes will be on Old Trafford to see if they act quickly or pivot to other striking options like Osimhen.
