Napoli have reportedly placed Manchester United forward Rasmus Hojlund at the top of their summer transfer wishlist, eyeing a potential return for the Danish striker to Serie A. Despite netting 16 goals in his debut campaign for United, Hojlund endured a difficult 2024–25 season, scoring just 10 goals in 52 appearances. That form has triggered speculation around his future.

The 22-year-old previously impressed in Italy with Atalanta, where his performances led to a big-money move to Old Trafford. Now, with interest from Inter Milan and Napoli, the striker could be heading back to familiar territory.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Napoli are ‘pressing’ for a deal and believe Hojlund is open to a return to Italy. Manchester United, meanwhile, are reportedly willing to negotiate for a fee in the region of £38 million.

Speaking recently, Hojlund said: “I have a contract until 2030, so I expect to play for Manchester United. I’m looking forward to summer vacation, and then I’m fully dedicated to the project that’s underway.” While his contract suggests a long-term stay, the arrival of Matheus Cunha from Wolves this summer and United’s continued links to Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo indicate a rebuild in attack may be on the cards.

In addition to Hojlund, several other attackers are expected to leave. Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, and Antony are all tipped for exits following recent loan spells. Alejandro Garnacho is also rumored to be on the chopping block after reportedly falling out with new head coach Ruben Amorim.
