Jack Grealish’s Manchester City career appears to be nearing its end, and Arsenal have been encouraged to pounce on the opportunity to sign the playmaker this summer.

The 29-year-old midfielder endured a frustrating 2024–25 campaign, making just seven Premier League starts and missing out on City’s squad for the Club World Cup. With Pep Guardiola reportedly no longer counting on him, City have placed a £40 million price tag on the England international.

Despite his limited role, former Premier League winner Colin Hendry has backed Grealish to revive his career at a club like Arsenal. Speaking to Coin Poker, Hendry called the midfielder “unfairly treated” and believes he still has a lot to offer.

“It looks like Jack’s City days are numbered,” Hendry said. “He’s got big decisions ahead of him, and choosing the right club now is crucial. Arsenal could be a great fit—they need more creativity, and he can provide that.”

Grealish was a record £100m signing when he left Aston Villa for City in 2021. He played a key role in their treble-winning campaign but has since become a peripheral figure. His omission from City’s squad for major matches this past season signals the end of his time at the Etihad.

There have been no firm bids yet, but speculation continues to swirl. Grealish himself is open to a fresh start and could return to Villa Park or explore opportunities abroad. However, a move to the Emirates would see him reunite with England teammates and provide a spark in Arsenal’s attacking midfield.

Hendry added, “He has nothing to prove to anyone, but I’d love to see him prove people wrong. Any club that gets him is getting a top player with bags of experience and medals.”

Grealish’s future will likely be decided before the start of the new Premier League season, and with City ready to sell, a surprise move to one of their domestic rivals isn’t off the table.
