Chelsea and Arsenal are preparing for an expensive summer, with both clubs targeting major signings to reinforce their squads. Chelsea have already spent around £60 million, bringing in players like Liam Delap and Mamadou Sarr, while Arsenal are lining up deals expected to exceed £120 million across multiple positions.

Despite these big spending plans, both Premier League giants may benefit from a low-cost but high-reward signing—Paul Pogba. The former Manchester United midfielder is a free agent after parting ways with Juventus and could bring valuable experience and quality to either squad without a transfer fee.

Chelsea remain active in the market, with more signings expected, especially in wide areas. Owner Todd Boehly continues to back new manager Enzo Maresca following a strong finish to last season. Meanwhile, Arsenal are reportedly pursuing striker options such as Viktor Gyokeres or Benjamin Sesko and are on the verge of signing Spain midfielder Martin Zubimendi in a £55 million deal.

Former Chelsea winger Florent Malouda believes Pogba could be the ideal addition for either team. At 32, Pogba has been sidelined with an 18-month doping ban, but Malouda sees no reason the French international can’t return to top form. He believes a move to Monaco, currently leading the race for Pogba, wouldn’t do justice to the midfielder’s pedigree.

According to Malouda, Pogba still belongs in the Premier League. With a résumé that includes a World Cup and Europa League win, Pogba brings experience, creativity, and composure—qualities that both Chelsea and Arsenal need as they chase trophies in the upcoming season.

While Monaco remain favourites, Chelsea and Arsenal are reportedly monitoring the free-agent market and could act if the terms are right. Pogba’s next move will be crucial, and a Premier League return might just be the stage he needs to revive his career.
