After being sidelined by Pep Guardiola, Kyle Walker has secured a move to Everton in a bid to revive his career. The 35-year-old defender is eager for regular game time ahead of the next World Cup, with his sights set on reaching 100 caps for England.

Despite a loan spell at AC Milan in early 2025, the Serie A side opted not to make the switch permanent. Fulham showed interest in the experienced right-back, but Everton are understood to have won the race. The Merseyside club is negotiating with Manchester City over a potential permanent deal or another one-year loan.

Walker’s contributions to Manchester City are nothing short of legendary. Since his £50m transfer from Tottenham in 2017, he has racked up over 300 appearances and played a pivotal role in the club’s domestic and European success.

He has lifted six Premier League titles, two FA Cups, four EFL Cups, and added a Champions League, Super Cup, and Club World Cup to his impressive haul. For England, Walker has been the undisputed first-choice right-back for nearly ten years, earning 96 caps.

Everton, now under David Moyes, have shown ambition after finishing 13th in the Premier League. The club is keen to reinforce their squad with proven talent, and Walker fits that profile perfectly. Moyes is said to have promised the veteran regular minutes — a key factor in the player’s decision.

Thomas Tuchel, now managing England, continues to include Walker in the national setup. However, Walker struggled in a recent friendly defeat to Senegal, underlining his need for consistent club action.

Meanwhile, another high-profile exit is looming at Manchester City. Jack Grealish is expected to depart this summer following a frustrating season. Left out of the Club World Cup squad and struggling for minutes, Grealish is eyeing a fresh start — with Aston Villa and Tottenham reportedly interested.

Former goalkeeper Shay Given has backed Grealish as a standout talent, saying he could easily fit into any top Premier League side if given the right opportunity and position. The 29-year-old remains determined to reignite his form and return to a starring central role.

With major transitions underway at the Etihad, Everton’s acquisition of Walker signals a bold move, offering both club and player a chance to reignite their ambitions.
