Crystal Palace are reportedly prepared to part ways with two of their star players this summer, as Premier League giants Manchester United and Chelsea circle the highly sought-after duo of Marc Guehi and Eberechi Eze.

The Eagles, having impressed in the Premier League this season and reached the FA Cup final for just the third time in their history, are bracing for bids for several key players. Captain Marc Guehi, midfielder Adam Wharton, attacker Eberechi Eze, and striker Jean-Philippe Mateta have all attracted significant interest from top clubs in recent months.

Guehi, whose contract expires next year, has shown little desire to renew, and Palace have long been expecting his departure. The 24-year-old centre-back has been linked with Newcastle United and Tottenham, who made a £70million bid for him last January. However, Chelsea, Guehi’s former club, are currently leading the race for his signature.

After struggling last season following the departures of Michael Olise and Joachim Andersen, it might have seemed unlikely that Palace would allow further major exits. However, manager Oliver Glasner has reportedly “given his blessing” for both Guehi and Eze to leave Selhurst Park this summer.

Eberechi Eze, who joined Palace in 2020, has enjoyed a standout campaign, registering nine goals and 11 assists in 38 appearances across all competitions. His stunning performances, including a memorable goal in the FA Cup semi-final win over Aston Villa, have caught the attention of top clubs, including Manchester United and Tottenham.

Eze, who was part of England’s Euro 2024 squad and scored his first international goal in World Cup qualifiers, has a £60million release clause that will become active at the end of the season. United, although more focused on Wolves’ Matheus Cunha, may still be tempted to activate the clause.

In light of these departures, Glasner is reportedly keen to reinvest the proceeds into transforming Palace into European contenders, with plans to sign up to six new players this summer. One target is Jobe Bellingham, 19, the brother of Jude Bellingham, who has had an excellent season with Sunderland. Bellingham is also attracting interest from the likes of United, Chelsea, and Arsenal, but any move depends on whether Sunderland can secure promotion to the Premier League via the playoffs.

For now, Crystal Palace’s focus remains on their FA Cup final and a strong finish to the Premier League season, with a home fixture against Nottingham Forest on Monday night.
