Despite swirling speculation about his future, Carlo Ancelotti has expressed his desire to remain at Real Madrid for as long as possible. The veteran coach addressed the media following Madrid’s Champions League quarter-final exit at the hands of Arsenal, a result that fueled rumors of his potential departure this summer.
Real Madrid’s season has hit a rocky patch. With just six La Liga matches left, they trail arch-rivals Barcelona by four points and face mounting pressure to deliver silverware. The Copa del Rey now stands as their only remaining shot at a major trophy this campaign.
Ancelotti’s tenure has been decorated, with 15 trophies over two spells in charge, including three European titles. Despite that success, reports continue to link him with a move away from the Bernabeu, with Roma, AC Milan, and even the Brazilian national team touted as potential destinations.
However, the Italian manager remains focused on his current post. “I love being here and I hope this will last as long as possible,” he said. Ancelotti emphasized that the pressure of managing Madrid energizes rather than overwhelms him. “Stress is fuel – it gives me more energy,” he noted.
Madrid’s top priority now is to close the gap in La Liga and lift the Copa del Rey. Ancelotti admitted that beating Barcelona is central to both objectives. “It’s logical that both titles come with beating Barcelona. That’s what we have ahead of us,” he said.
